Find My Tinnitus Sound walks you through choosing an ear, a sound type (ringing, whistling, hissing, humming) and a pitch at a low level, then suggests masking sounds to try around that region. It is an experimental personalisation feature, not a hearing test.

What you get at the end

A rough frequency and a short list of sounds worth trying first — for example, a high ring often pairs with white noise, soft hiss or rain; a mid ring with pink noise, a stream or a fan; a low hum with brown noise, ocean or wind. You can save the result on your device or forget it.

Why "approximate" is the honest word

Self-administered pitch matching agrees with clinic matching within half an octave about 70% of the time, and octave confusion is the usual reason for larger differences. Find My Tinnitus Sound includes an octave-check step for that reason. Neither tool determines the cause of tinnitus — only a professional can.
